Welcome! The purpose of this blog is to catalogue my progress on Eating Clean. My aim is to cut out all processed food, including chocolate. Yes chocolate. I go through episodes in my life where I eat a lot of chocolate. Not for any other reason than it tastes nice. It does spiral out of control and since having my second baby my tooth has become even sweeter. I've now resolved to just not buying any. I am however going to be making treats still but will be using natural sugars and sweeteners as opposed refined. Wish me luck.
I've looked on the internet a lot about clean eating and there really is a wealth of information out there. There is however a shortage of UK blogs. Don't get me wrong, I don't know enough for this to become the be all and end all in nutrition stats and what not to buy. It will however show anything I struggle with and any recipes that I have found that are tasty. It will also be great reference for me! I decided after Christmas that I would be making a smoothie or juice a day and I'm happy to say that so far I'm doing well. My husband and our two boys are also enjoying them which is a bonus.
I've always loved home cooking and am a firm believer in it however to take it a step further for me is to purify what we eat so to speak. To cut out the additives. I'd also like to have a couple of meat free meals per week. One of the reasons for this is I personally get fed up with the taste of meat, be it chicken, beef or pork etc. Also my 3.5 year old has just cottoned on to the fact that chicken is in fact a chicken so it's a bit of a struggle at times for him to happily eat the meal.
